It's almost Labor Day and it just does not seem possible that the summer is gone already!

With Labor Day imminent, our first meeting for the 2006/7 guild year is too. Everyone knows what that means.....Dues are due.

Single membership: $40. If paying CNCH dues through a different guild, $35
Family membership: $45. If paying CNCH dues through a different guild, $40.
Please plan to pay your dues at the meeting by check payable to Treadles to Threads.

The meeting agenda for the August meeting:

1. Dye Day Show and Tell-Please bring the stuff that you dyed at Linnie's for sharing, even if you have done nothing with it, so that we can all see.
2. Please also bring at least one cool thing that you did this summer to share....this could be something that you did based on the Judith MacKenzie workshop, a cool tool, or a neato fiber to pass around. We would LOVE to see what you've been up to.
3. We would love to hear any ideas that you may have for the guild project this year. We have at least one suggestion so far, but really would like to hear more. Because you are 'dyeing' to know, Will and Kate suggest continuing the color theme into the next year, including a workshop on the color wheel, and meetings based on this. For example: Buying the fibers (partially subsidized by the guild);creating a section of the colorwheel at each meeting or parceling outthe fiber to be carded together at home; giving each person enough fiberfor a small project (scarf, socks, etc.); and show and tell each monthon our progress.I know we all have ideas that can be added to these.Please let us know if you are interested or if you have suggestions foran alternate program. If there is a consensus, we will start to work onsetting up the workshop for a Saturday in September--we'll host it atour house. The estimated cost would be around $40 including fiber fee.The teacher, by the way, is Joanie Soth. She is the person who chairedthe fashion show for CNCH this last year.
4. Other planning business, including selecting officers, refreshments signup, and setting dates for the Calendar. For clarity, I am putting forth the tentative schedule for the 2006/7 year as follows, any changes will be posted as part of the September newsletter.
